Welcome To Monroe County Museum Collections
MCM Collections is a project of the Monroe County Museum. MCM Collections aims to support the museum’s mission to collect, preserve, and present the cultural, social, and natural history of Monroe County, Michigan, by digitizing and publicizing the museum’s extensive holdings in an online format.
Monroe County Museum was founded in 1939 and houses one of the largest collections of artifacts relating to southeastern Michigan. Mission statement: The Monroe County Museum collects, preserves, and presents the cultural, social, and natural history of Monroe County, Michigan.
This site was made possible through the support of a University of Michigan Rackham Program in Public Scholarship Graduate Student Grant in Public Scholarship. The Rackham Program in Public Scholarship supports Rackham students in designing collaborative projects with community partners that address complex social issues and enhance students’ professional development.
