Who are we?

The Monroe County Museum is a small local history museum located in Monroe, Michigan.  Founded in 1938, the Museum houses one of the largest collections of southeastern Michigan artifacts in the world.

What are the Museum’s hours?

Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

The Research Room is open to the public Tuesday –
Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., or by appointment.

What is the admission?

The Museum is free for residents of Monroe County. For non-residents, there is a suggested donation of $5 per adult and $2.50 per child.

I have a really cool artifact I want to give to the Museum. What should I do?

Take a photograph of the artifact(s) and email it to Caitlyn_Riehle@monroemi.org. Please provide as much information as possible about the artifact in the email.

What is MCMCollections?

MCMCollections is a collaboration between the Monroe County Museum and University of Michigan graduate student Amanda Healy. The purpose of the blog is to provide a platform for the digital collections of the Monroe County Museum. It is an ongoing project, which will seek to add more digital collections through the years.
